Two of the greatest things about being a baby photographer is watching a child grow through her first year, and getting to know the beautiful people who surround her. From newborn to cake smash photos, I really get to know the parents and sometimes grandparents of the little wonders that I work with. It is my honor to celebrate each stage with their family, as if they were part of my own.
Last year, Nora’s mother and grandmother came to her newborn session reveal overwhelmed with love for this little lady. Grandma, knowing she would greatly miss her after returning to Georgia, became my biggest fan. No really, she’s been the most enthusiastic supporter of my work and she makes me cry an a regular basis. Why is she such a big fan of mine? Because I’m here in Alaska, with her grand-baby, and I have the ability to record her at every stage.
Nora’s momma, a fellow photographer, also knows the importance of capturing each little stage of Nora’s life. Ashley is the owner and photographer of A Silver Lining Photography, of Bentwood, GA. She has become a friend over the past year while documenting Nora’s milestones. I can’t tell you how much that overwhelms my heart with love for this family. Nora’s first year was very well documented. We’ve had five sessions together: newborn, Fall family and sitter session, studio holiday session, outdoor holiday session, and her cake smash photos. Grandma has been here in person for two sessions and we’ve Skyped her in for two others. Every time, it is an emotional portrait viewing filled with joy over this sweet, baby girl. Her grandmother now has several photo albums full of her portraits, so that she may always see that smile.
Nora, you are very loved. Thank you for bringing so much love and cheerful smiles into my world, and thank you for sharing your mommy and grandma over the past year.
