You wouldn’t normally expect a newborn photographer to carry a teaching certification but this one does! Before moving to Alaska in 2014, I was teaching first-graders full time and juggling a busy teaching career with family life in Virginia. In the little spare time that I had, I turned to photography. Whether on hikes with my family or in a local studio learning lighting techniques, I really enjoyed being behind the camera creating art. When we received notice that we were moving across the country, I decided to establish a professional studio of my own.

Since then I've attended numerous trainings to perfect my craft, and ensure that the babies who come to my studio are safe and well cared for. The stye of my work has developed into an earthy brand; one that matches my love for rustic decor and outdoor life. I am proud of the work that I do in the studio and the relationships that I build with my clients, but also feel fullfilled investing time in my own kids. We have become a homeschooling family, and I'm putting that teaching certificate to use helping their minds grow. I'm where I was meant to be, and have pretty much the best job ever!
