Creativity has always been part of who I am. Even before photography became my passion, I had a desire to make something beautiful. When I became a mother, I was drawn to photography, realizing how tender and fleeting the moments with my own children were. My husband and I have lived in three different states since becoming parents. We’ve seen so much of this country’s natural beauty, embracing the crazy adventure that comes with military moves. Denali, Badlands National Park, Resurrection Bay, the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone have been a few of the “big park” highlights, but truly we’re just happy to park the camper somewhere and watch our children explore. We’re happiest when we are outdoors, for certain. I really love documenting the little adventures we have together whether extraordinary or perfectly ordinary. There is beauty and so much heart in all of our moments together.
My love for those real moments of family connection has shaped my family photography. Sure, we'll get you dressed up in the right clothes and choose an awesome landscape for family portraits, but my favorite frames are the ones filled with movement, connection, and emotion. Peaceful, loving moments as well as silly, wild ones are what tell my heart to love a photograph. Videography has added the possibility of preserving these moments in motion.
