Family Photography
Family photography can capture more than just faces. It’s the love and connection that I hope to put in each frame.
When I set out for a family photography session, I hope to capture connections and authentic expressions. I will still provide posing guidance, but your family is the focus and you bring your true selves to each session. It is also important for young children to have movement and breaks. I capture photos when they are a little bit silly and wild, and I keep snapping candids when they are somber and cuddly. The real moments in between poses often end up being favorites.
What Does a family Session Include?
I do travel outside of the above areas. A travel fee may apply. Just reach out and let me know what you have in mind.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
is so important to me!
01
Consult
First, schedule a phone call with me. This is your chance to have your questions answered, for me to get to know you a bit, and for us to begin gathering details for your session.
02
Prep
Together we’ll plan all of the details of your session. You’ll have my expert guidance for outfit choices, timing, and everything necessary to ensure a successful session. I even provide an online styling service to help you coordinate your family’s outfits.
03
Session
Family photography sessions last from 1 to 1 ½ hours, and are scheduled an hour and a half before sunset. That is when sunlight is softest and most flattering for your family portraits. I will direct and pose you, but I expect kids to need movement. My goal is to capture your connection and personality. So just relax and be in the moment.
04
Viewing
About one week after your session we’ll meet in the studio to view your proofs. At this time, you will select your final print or digital products for purchase. I have an expertly curated collection of frames, wood prints, and album choices to compliment your family photography.
05
Delivery
Heirloom print products and digital files may take up to eight weeks for final delivery. My partners and I strive to get them to you sooner, but we have quality production in mind.
What will it cost?
Each session is a customized experience for my clients.
There is a session retainer fee of $150 to hold your date on my schedule for family sessions. Printed art starts at $250. Your total investment will depend upon the final products that you wish to have created. Please schedule a consult with me and we’ll chat about your options!
