Hi there!

I’m Sarah Beth!

Creativity has always been part of who I am. Even before photography became my passion, I had a desire to create and craft beauty. When I became a mother, I was drawn to photography, realizing how tender and fleeting the moments with my own children were. My husband and I have lived in four different states since becoming parents. We’ve seen so much of this country’s natural beauty, embracing the crazy adventure that comes with military moves. Denali, Badlands National Park, Resurrection Bay, the Grand Canyon, PNW tide pools, redwoods, and Yellowstone have been a few of the highlights, but truly we’re just happy to park our camper somewhere and watch our children explore. There is beauty and so much heart in all of our moments together. When it comes to photographing our family, I know the importance of quality in both the process and in the final artworks. It’s an honor every, single time someone hires me to photograph their family, because I know that I’m preserving a chapter their family’s journey.

My own family story…

You’re giving me the honor of capturing your family, so here’s a little about mine!

Josh and I are high school sweethearts.

It’s crazy to think about how young we were when the two of use met. We were introduced during my senior year of high school, and both of us fell fast. He was a super cute football player, and I was a nerd. While he certainly taught me how to have a little fun back then, Josh has always been a calm, grounding presence in my life. We’ve done a lot of growing from those high school days, but we’re still two kids in love.

Proposal with a Catch

After six years of dating, college life, and a lot of growing up, Josh asked me what I thought about military life before proposing. I finished my teaching degree while he went to basic training, and then we got hitched. Twice actually, if you count the elopement we snuck in prior to the planned wedding.

Life as a Military Family

I don’t think either of us could have imagined the life that Josh’s military career would bring to us. While it has its challenges, it has also come with a lot of adventure and a close family bond. All three of our children were born in different states. We’ve gotten to explore various regions of the United States. Josh and I even explored Germany. Each relocation introduced us to new friends, new cultures, and new places. We were especially blessed to be sent to Alaska twice. We have become a resilient family unit, and I am grateful for that!

My Journey through Motherhood

When we had our first child, I tried to juggle full-time teaching and motherhood. However, I soon realized that I was spending far more time with my students than I could with my own baby. Once we considered that we wanted more children and would be moving every few years, the decision for me was clear. I wanted to be there for them through everything. So with that initial move, our first to Alaska, I left teaching and turned my photography into a profession. Now I get to spend more time with my growing children, and share my passion for capturing family memories with others.
