Jahlai and Paul Jr. welcomed the sweetest pair of twin baby boys this Fall, and I was beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph them. Anthony and Akoni are identical, but I was quickly able to distinguish Anthony’s plump cheeks from his brother’s. Akoni would give his identity away by sticking a tongue out at me now and then.
The twins definitely preferred to stay swaddled, as their jumpy newborn reflexed were still going strong. The moment we got them swaddled in a coordinating wrap and settled in next to each other, the boys would relax those tense arms and slumber. I just love watching twins melt into each other, content with the way they’d lived in close quarters for nine months.
I was so thrilled when we finally managed to sooth these twin baby boys into a slumber without the wraps. With newborn photography, I love to capture the exquisite softness of infants. Their silky hair and soft skin is only like this during the newborn stage. I’m happy that we captured that for Anthoni and Akoni’s parents.
