I have been anticipating a pretty big shift in fine art framing and printing from my framers for a while now, and it looks like the time has come. While this has challenged me with plenty to do while integrating new framing product and print options, I really believe the changes coming are going to be a huge blessing to my studio and most importantly to my portrait clients. Until now, I have been sourcing prints from a separate professional print lab, and then shipping to my framers for final production. Dave and Shannon, the amazing humans behind our beautiful framing, just announced that they are ready to handle every step of the process. What they’re offering in fine art printing is a tremendous upgrade!
Fine Art Prints
Printing portrait art that lasts a lifetime, takes careful consideration of paper types, pigment, and mounting options. Our prints come in four fine-art-rated paper types: luster, matte, linen, and cotton. After being printed with pigment based ink, the prints are then mounted to an acid-free styrene for support and durability. We’ll then have a number of framing, matte, and decorative print edge options to customize your fine art framing to individual preference. You’ll even be able to have your torn-edge, cotton prints edged in golf leaf.
New Frame Moulding Styles
The 2023 fine art framing release is bringing us several new frame designs, along with the option to add UV-blocking acrylic to your frame. In addition to the authentic reclaimed barn wood frames, there will now be classic oak and maple moulding options. We are also retiring some of the less popular frames and simplifying our menu for customers. What remains is an absolutely exquisite collection of handcrafted frames.
