Elizabeth and Andrew welcomed their first baby, and I had the honor of photographing him. We chose neutrals, blue and green for his newborn session styling to coordinate with his nursery and other decor in their home. Elizabeth mentioned that dad was outdoorsy and that baby B even had a deer mount in his room, so I had a little fawn hat ready for him as well.
Baby B was such a sleepy guy and was able to do most of my newborn posing flow with just one little break. Elizabeth loved the froggy pose, so I’m glad he was comfortable and happy in that pose. Once we finished on the posing table, I wrapped baby b for basket poses.
While I posed baby B in crates and baskets, Andrew noticed that I had a moose shed on my studio shelves. He asked what that was for, and I told him that I put babies on it for newborn photos. Of course dad wanted some photos of his little man on a moose shed! At the end of the session, I usually try to get some captures while waking newborns us. Sometimes they want to go right back to mom, but other times we get cute stretches and yawn. Baby B was happy to share a few expressions as he stretched and woke up.
