I had the pleasure of photographing Ashley, Scott, and their four children toward the end of summer. Their son, Cameron, has Down Syndrome. He is such a little light, and Ashley says he’s changed their life for the better. Cameron has taught them all what true, unconditional love is.
With Cameron in her life, Ashley has learned that people with Down Syndrome share more similarities with their typical peers than differences. As a baby, he did many of the same things his older siblings did. Cameron can do the same things, but in his own time. Just like her other children he has interests, dreams, and personality. Cameron has the purest kind of love for others, and lights up a room with his smile. He is perfect! Ashley keeps this verse in her heart:
Psalm 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
Children like Cameron have a unique gift to share with the world. He certainly is wonderfully made.
It was an absolute joy to photograph Scott and Ashley’s family. They were so relaxed and allowed me to capture their personalities. Natural smiles were pretty easy to find with this little sunshine at the heart of their session.
This session was published in Volume 13 of Beauty and Lifestyle Mommy Magazine, celebrating the Down Syndrome community. This publication shares real stories of motherhood with stunning photography and design. You’ll want to grab a copy while this very special issue is still available.
