Rachel was gracious enough to let me use her sunflower field or a few family photography sessions last summer. When I asked if she had any photos of her own family taken in the field yet, she had not. As a thank you for the use of her beautiful sunflowers, I offered up my services. Her daughter can take a while to warm up to people, but she loves her horse. So instead of just taking stand-still family photos, we turned this session into an equestrian sunflower field photography session.
Rachel wasn’t sure she had outfits ready for photos at short notice, but I took that worry away by bringing several options for her and A to choose from. A immediately fell in love with the cream-colored Catrin dress from Joyfolie. I have this dress in both Ecru and Marigold. I had a coordinating dress for Rachel, so mom and daughter were picture-ready in minutes.
It didn’t take long for A to warm up to me at all when given a fancy dress and her horse. She twirled and twirled in that dress, and insisted that she needed one just like it for her own closet. Rachel and A introduced me to their homestead horse, and then took a ride through the sunflower field. Little A was right at home riding bareback. I loved all of the genuine smiles that came out while she rode. I’m so glad that I was able to bless Rachel with some beautiful mother-daughter photos. She was so kind to let me photograph families here for the summer.
